The National Book Development Board develops the book publishing industry. Their struggle started way back in 1998, composed of people who had the same vision and desire to see the growth of the book publishing industry in the Philippines.

The very first Manila International Literary Festival in 2010 with the theme LOL: Lit Out Loud featured various local and foreign writers. And it continued on every year.

Now on its 9th year and now known as the Philippine International Literary Festival with the theme (AUTHOR)ities, filled with various events such as film screenings, performances, tabletop game demos, and a book fair. It will be held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines on April 19-20, 2018.

For the first day (April 19), a part of the program will be a panel with open forum with Manix Abrera, Mervin Malonzo and Paul Basinillo who would talk about graphic literature to T.V. adaptations.

In 2017, Mervin Malonzo’s “Tabi Po” was turned into a six-episode T.V. series directed by our very own Epik Studios that was released in SARI SARI Channel, available to Cignal TV. It received good reviews from not only the fans of the original komiks but also other viewers.

And in early 2018, Manix Abrera signed with Epik Studios for the development of his “Kikomachine Komix” series into either a T.V. series or film.

For the actual book fair, we will also be selling our books: “Pedro Penduko: The Legend Begins”, “Republika”, and our latest release, “Bernardo Carpio”. Epik Studios is looking forward to this new experience and, hopefully, a future partnership with the National Book Development Board.

See you there!
