Zoe Saldana’s acting career on-screen began in 1999 in an episode of Law & Order. Truly a woman of color with Dominican and Puerto Rican heritage, her most recent and notable acting roles include vibrant and colorful roles such as Neytiri in Avatar (2009) and Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014).
In 2018, she has wrapped up her shooting schedule for the parts 2 and 3 of the Avatar film series. And when asked about the fate of her character Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy:
“It all depends on what Marvel and James Gunn desire to do with the ‘Guardians’ and with Gamora’s fate. There’s a part of me that wants her to go back. Find her way back to the Guardians. But there’s also a part of me that wants to explore a bad Gamora.
“I’ve never seen that and she’s, you know, she’s considered the most lethal assassin. The most lethal woman in the galaxy. So I would want to see what that wrath looks like, also because it would just give me layers to sort of work on. But yeah, I want her to get back to the Guardians.”
At 41, she has built her entire career out of her acting prowess. And due to her appearances in some of the highest-grossing films, she is the second highest-grossing film actress of all time, with her films having collectively grossed more than $4 billion worldwide.
